About Us

The Anointed Body of Christ Church is a non-denominational Christ-centered, Spirit-filled congregation with over nine different African countries and the United States represented.

We are located at 3901 Lawler Road in Garland Texas.

Our goal, under the leadership of the Spirit of God, is to build a Christ centered congregation passionate about Godís word, prayer, worship and reaching out to a lost world to the glory of God.

Mission/Vision

Anointed Body of Christ Church is a community of believers dedicated to;

Proclaiming the message of salvation through faith in Jesus Christ

Preparing believers for works of service.

Values

      i.        Fellowship: God exists in perfect fellowship: Father, Son and Holy Spirit. The Christian life is not a solo experience. Believers are called to live in love, service, honesty and meaningful relationships with other believers. It is through our fellowship with other believers that we experience growth and fulfillment in our walk with the Lord.

Acts 2:42ff; 4:32-36; Hebrews 10:24

ii.        Godly Living: As believers, we are called to live worthy of the calling we have received. We should live lives characterized by humility, gentleness, patience, forbearance, love and non-conformity to worldly desires.

Romans 12:1-2; Eph. 4:1-3

iii.        Missions: The Lord has given us a mandate to reach out to a lost world with the gospel of Christ. It is through our involvement in mission that we offer unbelievers the opportunity to experience God's transforming love through faith in Jesus Christ.

Matt. 28:19-20; John 3:16

iv.        Prayer: Through prayer, we demonstrate our reliance and dependence upon the Lord for everything. Prayer is a transforming force in our lives. It should change us.

1 Thess. 5:18; Phil. 4:6

      v.        Worship: The Lord is worthy of worship and adoration. We are called to a life of worship as a community and individual believers. A life of worship recognizes and expresses the power, awesomeness and greatness of God in every area of life.

1 Chron.16:23-29; John 4:23

Core Beliefs

Summary (a detailed statement is available in our doctrinal statement)

I.        We believe that there is only one God, Creator of heaven and earth, who exists eternally in three equal persons Ė Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.

Genesis 1:1; Matthew 29:19; Deuteronomy 6:4

II.        We believe that the Old and New Testament Scriptures are the inspired Word of God, written under the guidance of the Holy Spirit without error in the words of the original documents and providentially preserved as the supreme authority for faith and life.

II Timothy 3:16-17; I Peter 1:20-21

III.        We believe that human beings were specially created by God to be perfect bearers of His image, but that through sin they alienated themselves from Him. Consequently, they have inherited a nature incapable of pleasing God and have incurred the certainty of physical death and the prospect of eternal punishment.

Romans 3:23; 6:23

IV.        We believe that Jesus Christ, the eternal Son of God and second person of the Godhead, took upon Himself when He was conceived by the Holy Spirit and born of the virgin Mary. He is therefore fully divine and fully human.

Philippians 2:6-11; John 10:30

V.        We believe that Jesus Christ, being without sin, died as the substitute for sinful humanity, and that His death is sufficient both to satisfy the justice of an offended holy God and to reconcile sinners to God. We believe that Jesus Christ was raised from the dead bodily and ascended in that form into heaven, where He is presently interceding for His own as High Priest and Advocate.

Acts 1:9; I Corinthians 15; II Corinthians 5:20; John 3:16; Hebrews 5

VI.        We believe that sinners are forgiven, reconciled to God, kept by Him, and granted eternal life as a gift of His grace, which they receive by faith alone in the crucified and risen Savior, Jesus Christ. We believe that all who trust Him are born of the Holy Spirit and thereby become the children of God.

John 1:12; 3:16; Philippians 2:8-9

VII.        We believe that the Church, the spiritual body of Christ inaugurated by the Holy Spirit at Pentecost, consists solely of those who have trusted Jesus Christ for salvation. We believe that its members are indwelt by the Holy Spirit from the moment of conversion and are enabled by Him to glorify the Lord Jesus by living godly lives, strengthening one another, and making disciples throughout all nations.

Acts 1:8; Romans 8:9; I Corinthians 12

VIII.        We believe the Holy Spirit has endowed the church with different gifts to be used for His Glory and the preparation of Godís people for service. We believe that the gifts are for all time and are still operational in the church today.

Acts 2:1-13; I Corinthians 12-14; Ephesians 4:1-13

IX.        We believe that Jesus Christ will receive the Church into His presence at any time. Followed by a period of judgment climaxed by the personal and physical return of Christ to the earth to establish His sovereign rule of righteousness and peace for a thousand years.

I Thessalonians 4:14-18; Revelation 20:1-3

X.         We believe that both believers and unbelievers will be raised from the dead bodily; believers to conscious eternal blessedness in Godís presence and unbelievers to conscious eternal punishment and separation from Him.

I Thessalonians 4:14-18; Revelation 20

History

The Anointed Body of Christ Church was formerly known as African Baptist Church of North Dallas.

The African Baptist Church of North Dallas was founded†on New Yearís Day of 1987, as a result of the vision of Rev. Dr. Ben Nworie. Dr Nworie saw a need for Africans in the Dallas/Fort Worth area to have a spiritual base to worship the Lord in the diverse cultural ways found in the African continent.

Church Services were initially held at 4231 Maple Avenue in Dallas. The church subsequently moved to the Audelia Road Baptist Church as an outreach mission of the host church.

In 1998, the African Baptist Church of North Dallas acquired and moved to our first property at 10051 Shoreview Road, Dallas, Texas 75238, where we remained until May 2005.

In June 2005, the African Baptist Church of North Dallas moved to 3901 Lawler Rd, Garland, Texas.

In May 2011 the church name changed to Anointed Body of Christ Church.
